AACC Statement on Racial Reconciliation
The American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) condemns violence against African-American men and women, and all people of color. We stand against all forms of racism, bigotry, and violence.
At the heart of the AACC, we believe in educating and equipping mental health and ministry leaders to bring help, hope, healing, and reconciliation by increasing awareness of diversity and cultural competencies in the helping profession. Specifically, our Multicultural Division of the AACC seeks to promote a greater awareness of multiculturalism and the impact of cultural and ethnic differences on the counseling process among our members.
We are currently in the process of extending the influence and reach of our Commission on Racial Reconciliation to increase dialogue, sensitivity, and resources to best train our counselors, pastors, and caregivers to foster racial reconciliation.
