Monte Y. Pescador
Monte Pescador holds both a Master of Arts in Counseling (Colorado Christian University, 2011) and Master of Divinity (Grand Canyon University, 2018) as well as a lifetime of experience listening to people of many cultures and religions about life problems. He created Dirt 'N' Nails Farms Inc. (501c3) and its subsidiary DBA Rohi Therapy as ministries to "sow seeds of hope for the physically, mentally, and spiritually hungry and homeless." He is married to Rebecca Pescador and partners with her in her law office practice as an in-house counselor in times of need and a life and communications coach in the practice of collaborative divorce. Monte and Rebecca are the proud parents of an adopted daughter, Freya, whom Monte believes is simply "God's gift" for bringing her into their lives just as he was finally starting seminary.
Rohi Therapy was started in Denver but has moved to Cortez, Colorado to serve the population with mental health services, whether or not a client can afford it. This means we have a Free Clinic Friday as well as FCF appointments as needed with volunteer counselors that allow for up to six free visits before something more needs done. Sponsors can sponsor individuals or the practice as a whole. Otherwise, by IRS requirements for non-profits, all counselors must stick to specific pricing; no sliding scale is available. It is up to the counselor to either accept payment or no payment at all, and Rohi puts every dollar over office expenses into a pool for sponsorship of clients who otherwise could not afford services. Our counselors offer a wide variety of services and are constantly learning more to offer as comprehensive a service as possible to meet the needs of everyone who comes in.
