Hello, I’m Rebekah Barrom. I’m a licensed counselor in Tennessee, and have been practicing clinical counseling since 2007. Although I grew up in Memphis and my practice is in Memphis, my family and I currently call Mississippi home. I love travel and the outdoors. I also enjoy the Spanish language and different cultures within that language. I learned Spanish through a variety of ways —school, missions, and practical experience. Due to only a handful of bilingual counselors in the mid-south, I have grown to have a very well-rounded range of clinical experience. Having close family and friends in the ministry and on the mission field has really given me a heart to encourage those in ministry through counseling.
Although I work with a variety of issues, I have a deep commitment to helping people overcome their past traumatic experiences. The approaches that are used are evidence based but from Christian perspective. I truly believe there is hope to live an abundant life in Christ despite what has happened in the past. I consider it an honor to walk alongside clients in their journey toward wellness. Being a parent myself, I also enjoy helping parents and children succeed in their relationships. Increasing better communication, establishing realistic expectations, and consistency in consequences are just the beginning of a healthy household. I provide in-person and telehealth sessions. In-person sessions are in Memphis, TN. I accept most major corporate insurance policies and offer private pay rates. I received a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling in 2007 from Liberty University. I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Spanish from Mississippi College. I am a nationally board certified counselor and licensed to practice in TN. Prior to working in private practice, I worked in a nonprofit setting focusing on treating and advocating for victims of crime.
