About

I have provided therapy in multiple settings including college counseling centers, Veteran's Administration (VA), and private practice. Through my experience in these various settings I have worked with individuals struggling with many different difficulties including anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, addiction, etc. Through these diverse experiences, I have learned to tailor my approach to each individual that I work with. While I ensure every client is treated with warmth, respect, and empathy, I also focus on what makes each client unique and make sure this individuality is prioritized in treatment. As part of my doctoral training, I engaged in research investigating how a client's religious identity can impact their mental health. As a Christian myself, I welcome the opportunity to discuss how your faith may influence your life as well.

Practice Description

At times it can feel like the challenges of life can be overwhelming. Perhaps you are enduring a season of worry, sadness, or isolation. If so, I would like to help. My goal in counseling is for you to feel free to address difficulties in any part of your life and to do that in a safe and productive way. Whether you want to address a specific concern or more generally live a richer life, I would be happy to support you. I engage in evidence-based practices with clients and value including a client's spiritual health in treatment. My generalist training allows me to support clients facing a variety of difficulties and my Christian faith secures a sense of hope that I incorporate into all of my therapeutic work. I am happy to work with any adult-aged clients and generally work from a Client-Centered therapeutic approach, though I do supplement with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Bibliography

I received my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2014, marking the beginning of my clinical work. I then completed my PhD in Counseling Psychology in 2021. I now practice as a licensed psychologist through my own private practice, Hope For Life LLC, supporting clients throughout the state of Georgia via a telehealth platform. I have much experience working with the veteran population and, while I don't take insurance directly, you may be able to apply for out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance company. If you are looking for a down-to-earth counselor that you can be authentic with, feel free to reach out.
